Newcastle Owner Mike Ashley won 1.3 Million Pounds in Roulette

Roulette can be considered as one of the most in demand casino games by players visiting land-based casinos or even online casinos. The reason why is that players do not need to make any complicated decisions on the game and all they need to decide is where they will place their wager. On May 6th, 2008, while visiting the up marker '50 London casino facility in Mayfair, London, which imposes a 650 pounds annual membership, Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley took a shot on the game of roulette and put down wagers of 480,000 pounds on the number seventeen.

Astonishingly, he won. He left the casino with a total of 1.3 million pounds in total winnings and a gathering of stunned spectators. Mr. Mike Ashley was recently placed on the 54th spot on the Sunday Times Rich List of Britain's wealthiest people. Ashley has an estimated wealth of 139.8 million pounds, although he slid down several places from his place at the list last year.

Mike Ashley placed down a complete wager on the roulette wheel, scooping up all the possibilities like the number seventeen-a single digit, odds, black, line wagers and one-eighteen. His roulette payout of 1.3 million pounds-was the total of all his wagers. Most casino facilities have maximum wagers on each game, which limits the amount that a player can put down for each game. In this instance, the casino maximum was 2,000 pounds for a single wager, but Mike Ashley was able to ignore the rule by putting several complimentary wagers, which reached the total of 480,000 pounds.
